A one day meeting was convened at the IRCS, NHQ on 14 March, 2018 to review the ongoing Livelihood Projects in the states of Odisha, Maharashtra & Manipur. The project has now been launched in the state of J & K as well. The cumulative budget for three years for the project is Rs. 6,40,66,050/-
Inaugurating the meeting, Mr. Manish Chaudhary, Joint Secretary said that it was not a routine activity of IRCS and there was no expertise available with Red Cross for such activities. Still the project was rolled out keeping in mind the objective of empowering poor & needy people living in remote areas.
Mr Adibayo, the Deputy Head of Regional Delegation of ICRC in his address emphasized on need for sustaining the programme and exhorted the participating branches to learn from each other.
Along with reviewing the existing activities the branches shared their activity calendar & road map for execution of tasks in the calendar year 2018.
