Indian Red Cross observed the World TB day today. In the function at IRCS (NHQ) which was attended by various stakeholders, Dy. Dir. Gen. (TB), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI, Dr. Ashok Kumar thanked the Indian Red Cross for supplementing the TB control efforts and applauded the work of Red Cross Volunteers to put DOTS treatment defaulters back on treatment. Socio behavior change for prevention of new cases, social mobilization to fight stigma/discrimination and ensuring completion of DOTS treatment by TB patients was stressed by Dr.S.P.Agarwal, Secretary General Indian Red Cross Society.
