The recent firings from across the LoC in district Rajouri (Nowshera Sector) of the State of J&K have affected a large population. They have been evacuated and housed in temporary shelters at Nowshera.

A team of the Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region, led by its Hony. Secretary Sh. R.C. Puri, Sh. Sita Ram Sharma, Member, Executive Committee and office staff under the directions of Dr. Mandeep K Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ex-officio Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region distributed relief material consisting of kitchen sets, buckets and hygiene kits to the affected families putting up in camps in and around Nowshera. The relief material was sent by the Indian Red Cross Society, National Head Quarters, New Delhi.
