8 March, 2018; Indian Red Cross Society, National Headquarters conducted a workshop on basic first aid for the Members of Parliament and senior staff members of the Rajya Sabha at the Parliament House. The programme was attended by 85 people.
Addressing the participants Mr Manish Choudhary, Joint Secretary, IRCS said, “As auxiliary to the state the organisation is the largest humantarian institution in the country. We train over 6.00 lacs of people in first aid and allied subjects and cherish the dream of reaching all communities through our trained voluneer network in due course.” Mr Mukul Pandey, Additional Secretary Rajya Sabha Secretariate, thanked IRCS for the programme and desired that a detailed schedule shall be drawn up for more intensive training as the need for emergency medical help is needed all the time everywhere.
During the workshop there was more emphasis on demontration of the first aid techniques by the master trainers and facilitators. The participants took keen interest in the sesssions in which, CPR, choking, head injury etc were covered in detail.
