Visit of the Chinese Delegation to the National Headquarters IRCS

2006 is the Friendship year between India and China. Steps have been taken by the two great nations to forge more cooperation in fields like music, art, science and culture.

To further strengthen the spirit of friendliness Red Cross Society of China deputed a high level delegation to visit India. The Chinese Delegation was headed by Mr. Guo Changjiang, Vice President, Red Cross Society of China. Other members of the delegation included Ms. Li Ming Zhu, Vice Chairman, Secretary General, Xiamen Red Cross Society, Mr. Fang Nanting, Vice President, Guangxi Regional Branch, Mr. Donson Y.H. Yao, Director, Reception & Propaganda, Jilin Branch, Ms. YiYi Gong, Deputy Director, External Liaison Department, Red Cross Society of China and Ms. Yidan Yang, International Organizations Division External Liasion.

The delegation called on the Secretary General on 7th of November. The leadership of both the National Societies pledged for supporting each other in the years to come. They realised that the two biggest National Red Cross Societies should have better cooperation and must exchange mutual expertise in DM, Health etc.

The Chinese Delegation also visited Blood Bank, Disaster Management Centre and IFRC, India Delegation & SARD and saw the Red Cross activities in the district of Faridabad, Haryana.
