NDRT Refresher Course

Mr. Deepender Singh Hooda, Member of  Parliament, Lok Sabha and  Vice Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, visited Regional Warehouse, Bahadurgarh, on 11th March, 2011 to attend the Valedictory Function of the  National Disaster Relief Team (NDRT) Refresher Training Course  which was held from 8th to 11th March, 2011. Dr (Prof) S.P. Agarwal, Secretary General, Indian Red Cross Society welcomed him. Mr. Azmat Ullah, Head of the South Asia Regional Delegation of the International Federation of RC & RC Societies (IFRC) and the representatives of Partner National Societies also participated in the programme.


Dr. Agarwal greeted Mr.  Hooda and other guests and thanked them for their presence. He informed that due to the initiative of Mr Hooda the Vocational Training Centre, within the warehousing complex, has been started. The course empowers women by giving them training in stitching and allied subjects. Dr Agarwal mentioned, “IRCS will look forward to Mr Hooda’s continued leadership and support in Red Cross work.”

Mr Hooda was highly impressed by the acquired expertise of the women being trained at the Vocational Training Centre. He was briefed about the training and contents of the course. The watsan units and other disaster response tools kept at the warehouse were also shown to Mr  Hooda. Mr Hooda appreciated the activities at Bahadurgarh. He pledged all possible support to make the warehousing complex equipped with training facilities become vibrant in the coming days.
