An Earthquake measuring magnitude 9.0(revised from 8.9) hit Japan on 11th March 2011. The earthquake caused extensive human casualty as well as infrastructure damage in many areas. To provide aid to the Tsunami victims in Japan, the Indian Red Cross Society (NHQ) received donation from local donors which the National Headquarters had forwaded to the Japanese Red Cross on 17th October 2011.
